People from all walks of life can become members of WAEE: teachers, administrators, environmental educators, natural resource professionals, students, and volunteers. Besides individuals, corporate and organizational memberships are available for school districts, nature centers, environmental groups, and businesses.

Member Benefits:

WAEE Annual Conference: This conference offers an excellent opportunity for educators, administrators, students and others interested in environmental education to network, share and learn. Participants attending the conference gain new knowledge and ideas, get a wonderful chance to network, and come away filled with enthusiasm and inspiration.

WAEE Winter Workshop: This three-day workshop focuses on winter environmental education and offers opportunities to cross country ski, snowshoe, sled, enjoy music by the beautiful stone fireplace or take in the gorgeous view from the warm and cozy dining hall. This WAEE event offers a great chance to learn new ways to enjoy winter, network with other environmental educators and take a break from busy everyday life in a beautiful setting. With many fun outdoor activities, winter workshop is perfect for families to attend together.

Advocacy and Information: WAEE members receive the weekly WAEE Updates with timely information on environmental action resources and trainings and the WAEE news. WAEE also provides a united voice for professional environmental educators in the state and nationally as we educate legislators and environmental partners about the value of environmental education in our communities. WAEE keeps you informed, offers professional development opportunities and ways to remain active in the future of environmental education.

Achievement Awards: WAEE recognizes schools, youth groups, individual students, and formal and non-formal educators for their outstanding environmental education successes. Achievement awards are given annually to members and non-members who have reached new heights in environmental education.
